National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has established the 3 Overseas Hub in recent years in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam with the purpose to connect NCKU with other countries, leverage the resources and contribute to society. This year, the three NCKU Overseas Hubs co-organized the “2021 NCKU Overseas Week” with the series Webinar to share the experience of regional joint research projects, International Education and International talent cultivation, through online forums in Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam from December 1^st to 3^rd.

The Webinar “The Case study of your talent cultivation in Taiwan and Southeast Asia” organized on Dec. 1^st gets the huge support from Institute of Creative Industries-NCKU, Taiwan; Post graduate Education Division-Mahidol University, Thailand; Research Management and International Cooperation, University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City, UEH, Vietnam and International Relation Center, Univ. of Kebangsaan, Malaysia. Especially from Prof. Hsiao-Weng Wang-Vice President for International Affairs, the office for International Affairs team, the sister Hubs in Thailand and Malaysia, all Speakers and all of the viewers.

The panelist that led to the success of the Webinar were: Prof. Shyh-Nan Liou, Director, Institute of Creative Industries - NCKU, Taiwan; A/P Peti Thuwajit, Assistant Dean, Post graduate Education Division - Mahidol University, Thailand; Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao, Deputy Head, Research Management and International Cooperation, UEH, Vietnam; Dr. Tanot Unjah, Deputy Director, International Relation Center, Univ. of Kebangsaan, Malaysia. The event has attracted the participants from the world such as Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, etc. with many different occupations as Students, University Staff, Hospital, Industry and Government.Students took the highest proportion of participants (74%), furthermore, people belonging from the University Staff, Industry had been recorded as a considerable amount, 16% and 8% respectively.

In the beginning, the “Opening Remark” was started with the speech of Dr. Minh Hien. She emphasized the important of young talent cultivation, the international experience and exchange program in contemporary society. She introduced the role of NCKU Overseas Hubs that works as the golden bridge, to connect the Institutions, Academy-Industry, leverage the resources and bring the benefit for all of the stakeholders.

Following the schedule, Prof. Shyh-Nan Liou introduced the 1^st presentation with the topic: "Multicultural experiences inspiration and interdisciplinary collaboration learning". Prof. Liou mentioned the diversity Structure in the Institute of Creative Industries, including Industrial design, Architecture, Urban planning and Design (from Human to Urban scale) with all courses in English taught. The knowledgeable and experienced Faculty members in the 3 fields: Brand & Marketing Planning, Media & Interaction Design, Industry & Service Innovation promise has attracted the considerable amount of the Students studying in the Institute not only from Taiwan but also the United State, Germany, Mongolia, France, Korea, Vietnam, etc.

Next is the part of “Experience of Double PhD program in Siriraj” from A/P Peti Thuwajit. A/P Peti started the speech by introducing the Double PhD program following the procedures: Apply the 1^st PhD program, enrolls to Scholarship and applies to 2^nd PhD program (partner University and agreed by both Institutions). The advantages of this program are that students will graduate with 2 PhD degrees from 2 programs of 2 Institutes (with single Dissertation/Publication), and the Institution doesn’t need to develop a new program. The more challenging program also shared by A/P Peti is the Joint PhD program.

Dr. Pham Duong Phuong Thao shared the topic "International Programs towards student capacities at UEH" in the next part. Dr. Thao expressed the Advanced program and Elite program with interdisciplinary activities such as: language exchange, network, new friendship and cultural experience has strongly attracted the students. The UEH organized the Research forum to share the scientific research results, enhance the networking with the International Experts and improve the English proficiency for the students.

The final presentation from Dr. Tanot Unjah with the speech: “Inculcate curiosity in advancing the education quality case of UKM”. Dr. Tanot started with the UKM students features, such as mainly Gen Z, inline to inherit a strong economy with low record unemployment, racially and ethnically diverse, on track to be the most well-educated generation, digital native, etc. In UKM, students have approached the inculcation – curiosity through the Summer program focus in the Science, Art/Social Science or Leadership, or the Innovation course through the start up or join in the Industry. The Cultural Exchange by the Chit chat session, or specific culture is also be conducted by UKM. The partnership between Faculty-Institute- Industry was introduced based on the advantages of each stakeholder.

The intended duration of this Conference will be arranged in almost 2 hours. NCKU OH hopes all viewers and participants will gain much constructive information about the experience in young talent cultivation, especially the International Exchange programs, the International Scholarships, the specific programs for enhance the young talent capacities. We do hope NCKU Overseas Hub’s future activities have always received support from everyone.

Some outstanding results of this Conference:

• Vietnam Hub got the huge attention from viewers and participants in both Cisco Webex platform and FB page.
• On Cisco Webex, it has 30 participants. On FB, the video livestream reached 1031 people and got 528 views. Not only in Vietnam and Taiwan, our video was affected by the amount viewers from other countries such as Australia, Germany, Canada, South Korea.
