On 7th July 2026, the NCKU–UM Joint Symposium on Frontiers in Pharmacology and Translational Medicine: Building Research Partnerships Through Scientific Exchange successfully brought together researchers from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan and Universiti Malaya (UM), Malaysia for an afternoon of inspiring scientific exchange and collaboration.

🔬 Key highlights from the symposium:
✨ Emerging advances in neuroscience and MRI neuroimaging to better understand brain connectivity and neurological disorders.
✨ New discoveries in cancer biology, including tumour microenvironment, chemoresistance, autophagy, and metabolic reprogramming as potential therapeutic targets.
✨ Innovative research in cardiovascular pharmacology and cardiometabolic diseases, highlighting precision medicine approaches to improve patient outcomes.
✨ Cutting-edge developments in nanomedicine, including DNA nanotechnology and polymeric nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery.
✨ Promising progress in cancer immunotherapy, with novel strategies to enhance T-cell activation and improve anti-tumour immune responses.

🤝 Beyond the scientific presentations, the symposium concluded with fruitful discussions on strengthening collaboration between NCKU and UM. Participants explored opportunities for:
