On 21 August 2026, UM and the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM), NCKU came together for the NCKU AISSM–UM Joint Online Symposium on Next-Generation Semiconductor Technologies.

The symposium brought together researchers, academics and students from Malaysia and Taiwan to exchange insights on cutting-edge semiconductor research, covering 2D semiconductor materials, optoelectronics, laser processing, advanced packaging, neuromorphic transistors and AI edge devices.

The symposium concluded with a Future Collaboration & Strategic Planning session, where participants explored potential joint research projects, publications, student exchange, joint grant applications and postgraduate co-supervision.

A heartfelt thank you to all our six distinguished speakers, organisers, researchers, academics, students and participants for making this meaningful exchange possible.
