On 13 April 2026, the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan successfully conducted an academic visit to the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The delegation was led by Prof. Wei-Chou Hsu (Dean, AISSM), alongside distinguished members including Prof. Yu-Lung Lo, Prof. Ming-Chi Chou, Prof. Lih-Yih Chiou, and Ms. Phoebe Lu, with support from Ms. Haridah Alias (NCKU Overseas Hub in Malaysia).
The session brought together esteemed academicians and researchers from UKM, including Prof. Ir. Dr. Norhana Arsad (Deputy Dean, Research & Innovation), Prof. Dr. Huda Abdullah (Department of Electrical, Electronic & Systems Engineering), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gan Kok Beng (Coordinator, International Undergraduate Program), Ir. Dr. Ros Nadiah Rosli (Department of Civil Engineering) and Dr. Wan Fathul Hakim Wan Zamri (Department of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering).
The delegation also visited key research facilities within the Faculty of Engineering and Built Environment, UKM, including the UKM-NI Embedded System Lab, Microwave Technology Lab, and Photonic Technology Lab, gaining valuable insights into cutting-edge research and innovation in engineering and semiconductor-related fields.
The visit served as a platform for meaningful discussions on Semiconductor research and innovation, Academic and student mobility opportunities, Joint research and industry collaboration and Strengthening Malaysia–Taiwan partnerships. This engagement reflects a shared commitment to advancing engineering excellence, fostering global talent, and building impactful collaborations between NCKU AISSM and UKM. Together, we are shaping the future of sustainable manufacturing and semiconductor technology.
