The Online Job Fair 2021 was organized by the National Cheng Kung University Overseas Hub in Vietnam (NCKU OH) on July 23th, 2021. The event attracted 40 CV of Candidates which their major from the various field such as Economics, Financial, Engineering, Literature, etc and from many well-known Universities in Taiwan and other countries like National Cheng Kung University, Kyushu University (Japan), ChungYuan Christian University, I-Shou University, Nanhua University, National Sun Yat-sen University, National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology, TamKang University & Queensland University of Technology (Australia).

At the beginning, Dr. Minh Hien announced the reason NCKU OH in Vietnam established the event: “Online Job Fair” that day and she hoped NCKU OH would be the gold bridge to connect Alumni with Taiwanese companies as well as to complete the goal as strengthen the network between Academia and Industry. She wished all of Taiwanese companies would recruit the talented employees for their companies and all the candidates would have the best performance.

 In terms of NCKU, Prof. Wei-Shiun Chang (Director) – Office of Technology Commercialization, Innovation Headquarters – NCKU gave the opening remark for the Event “Online Job Fair”. He sent the thankfulness to all the Taiwanese Enterprises who had accompanied with NCKU OH Vietnam in this event as well as hoped that the candidates with all the experiences they got in NCKU and Taiwan will be valuable baggage on the way to the bright future.

After the Opening Remark, Dr. Minh Hien showed to people the result of the small survey that Vietnam Hub had created to collect some essential information of each candidate to help Taiwanese enterprises knows about their desires.

This survey showed that most of the Candidates with the best educational background with a high-qualified degree as Master & Ph.D. In addition, they were also good at English and Chinese, this is a bonus point in the international companies. For those reasons, they would like to have a monthly salary of around $1.200.

Next, the Representative of Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank was Mr. Simon Chen and Ms. Nguyen Vo Tuong Vy had a presentation to share with all the candidates and viewers about their bank like their history, ranking, and overseas branches. Was established in 1950, over 1000 years past, they had 70 branches in Taiwan, 4 branches in overseas and 4 presentative offices. Besides that, they had many achievements such as 236^th position in the world and the 11^th position in domestic in banker field.

Then, Ms. Pham Thai Bao Quynh – Senior Specialist shared with participants about Cathay United Bank (CUB). CUB was the largest bank in Taiwan and they had the rank 238^th by Forbes World top 2000 Corps. Established in 1975 and until now, they have received many honor prizes such as The Strongest Bank in Taiwan (The Asian Bank), The best trade bank in Taiwan (Trade Financial Magazine), Best Employee Engagement (The Asian Banker), etc. In this time, a job “Assistant Relationship Manager” is accompanied with many best benefits like performance review, Cathay insurance, domestic & overseas training. Specially, a scholarship entitled “CUBxNCKU Master International Program” was the cooperation between NCKU and Cathay Bank that each student would receive the huge support from CUB for visa application fee, 2-way ticket flight, monthly allowances, health insurance, accommodation.

After that, Ms. Ngoc Nguyen – Chief Digital Officer from Cathay Insurance Vietnam will introduce all people about her company – one of the companies about insurance that was popular in the Vietnam market. Just 10 years from their first establishment in Vietnam, now they have more than 11 dealers and 1 million customers from the North to the South in Vietnam. On this occasion, 5 job opportunities: Reinsurance Executive, Data Analyst Cum Product Executive, Business Development Executive, Legal Executive, IT-Development were provided by Cathay Insurance Vietnam.

And the last part was the speech of Mr. Quang – Director of ThinkPower Information Vietnam Corporation. In his speech, he emphasized that although 5 year when Vietnam branches were run, this companies had won many prizes at: One of Top 3 Fintech solutions providers in Taiwan, Cool Vendor in 2018 by Gartner in APAC, yearly revenue growth with a CAGR of 36%.

The Q&A part is the part that all viewers looked forward to most. In this part, Vietnam Hub received many questions in Cisco Webex platform and FB. Most of the questions is about the job requirements, the job descriptions as well as the welfare from the Taiwanese companies.

At the end of the Webinar, the delegated guests hoped all the candidates and viewers would have brief information about their companies. Finally, Dr. Hien wished after this event, the candidates could find a good job and Taiwanese Enterprises might find the talent employee in contributing for the success in the future.

After ending the Livestream, Taiwanese enterprises and candidates who had had the interview schedules will access the link to join the private interview. We received a lot of good feedbacks from Taiwanese companies. They realized most of the Candidates were very talented and had good skills to join the 2^nd round Interview to directly deal with the Employers about their salaries and other welfares. This Interview was held in a private room with an individual candidate to ensure confidentiality for companies and candidates.

Some outstanding results of this Event:

• Vietnam Hub got the huge attention from viewers and participants in both Cisco Webex platform and FB page.
• On Cisco Webex, we had 30 participants
• On FB, our video livestream reached 945 people and got 638 views. Not only in Vietnam, our video was watched by everyone all over the world, including Philippines, Malaysia, United States, India, France, Indonesia, and Germany.
