The NCKU Overseas Hub in Malaysia successfully organized a webinar titled “NCKU International Summer School: Learn Globally, Grow Personally”, introducing Malaysian students and academics to the diverse academic and research opportunities available at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Taiwan.

The session was opened by Ms. Haridah Alias, who highlighted NCKU’s reputation as one of Taiwan’s leading universities with strengths in engineering, medicine, and science, and emphasized its strong international environment with more than 23,000 students and growing global collaborations.

Precision Geriatric Care Summer School

Professor Antonio Cheung from the NCKU College of Medicine introduced the summer school titled “East Meets West: Holistic Strategies in Precision Geriatric Care.” The two-week program addresses the global challenge of aging populations through a multidisciplinary approach that includes interactive lectures, healthcare site visits, community engagement, and cultural learning activities. Participants also gain practical exposure by interacting with elderly communities and healthcare providers, allowing them to understand real-world challenges beyond classroom learning.

Semiconductor Summer School at AISSM

Professor Mitch Ming-Chi Chou, Associate Dean of the Academy of Innovative Semiconductor and Sustainable Manufacturing (AISSM), together with Ms. Kacie, presented the AISSM Semiconductor Summer School. The program offers intensive training in semiconductor technologies through academic lectures, laboratory work, and industry visits to leading companies and research centers. The initiative leverages Taiwan’s strong semiconductor ecosystem and NCKU’s partnerships with major industry players to provide students with practical exposure to real-world semiconductor innovation.

Exchange and Internship Opportunities

The final presentation by Ms. Lynn Chao from the NCKU Study Abroad Division highlighted the university’s exchange programs, research internships, and scholarship opportunities for international students. These programs provide valuable opportunities for students to gain research experience, engage with global academic networks, and immerse themselves in Taiwanese culture while studying in Tainan.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A session where participants sought further information on application procedures, program structure, and available scholarships.

Through this webinar, NCKU reaffirmed its commitment to promoting global academic collaboration and providing international students with transformative educational experiences.
